6 ways to revamp your home on a budget

Anyone else get bored with their home decor after a few months?

While I don’t decorate my home for every holiday, I do like to revamp for different seasons and bring in different colors.

Recently, I was getting VERY bored with my super glam gray living room and wanted to add some elements of black. I don’t like to spend a lot of money on home decor (for what? I’ll just become bored with it in a few months!) so I’m sharing some tips to revamping your home on a budget:

Budget-friendly ways to revamp your home on a budget

1. Shop Thrift stores

I love shopping thrift stores like the goodwill and the resale store for cheap home decor items

2. Use things in unconventional ways (like rugs on couches!)

Yes, rugs should “technically” be on the floor but who says we have to follow the rules? Use items in unconventional ways!

3. Use pillow covers

Pillow covers are quick, easy and inexpensive way to dress up a space! Plus they’re more environmentally friendly and easier to clean!

4. Switch up textures, patterns and colors

If you’re bored with a space, I recommend incorporating different textures, colors and patterns to revamp it!

5. Incorporate new pieces with old pieces

Don’t buy everything new! Add a few new pieces to bring an old space back to life

6. Shop unconventional stores

Listen, anytime I go to aldi’s I make it a point to cruise down that random aisle to see what new home decor they have. Yard sales? I’m in there. Hey, I’ve even seen bookstores have home decor items. Shop for home decor beyond the home decor stores and websites

Want your newly revamped space to smell awesome too? I use a DIY fabric refresher because it doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals, inexpensive and I can control the scent!

DIY Fabric refresher

1/2 cup high-proof vodka
1/2 cup water Distilled water (if possible).
25 drops lavender essential oil
25 drops lemon essential oil
10 drops Mandarin tree essential oil
Mix in a spray bottle!
