All makeup products name list & uses:
Now that I’ve shared a list of makeup products let’s go further and discuss different makeup uses!
Makeup products uses:
Face Primer:
Face primer is applied before foundation. It helps to create an even and smooth base for foundation, allowing it to stay on for longer while also ensuring that makeup looks flawless all day long.
Foundation:
Whether you’re looking for a subtle, natural look or an all-over dramatic effect, face foundation can help you achieve the desired outcome. It can be used to even out skin tone, hide blemishes and brighten dull skin. It also helps protect your skin from environmental pollutants and sun damage while providing a smooth canvas for other makeup products.
Color-corrector:
Color correctors are designed to neutralize skin discolorations such as dark circles, age spots, and hyperpigmentation. By applying a color-or that is the exact opposite of your skin discoloration, you can balance out any imperfections and create a more even complexion.
Concealer:
Concealers are used to hide imperfections such as acne, scars, blemishes, and dark circles. They provide coverage that is heavier than foundation and is used to hide stubborn flaws that cannot be covered with foundation alone. Concealer can also be used to help brighten under the eye.
Face powder:
Face powder is used to set makeup and help it last longer. It helps to reduce shine, giving you a matte finish that looks natural and stays put. Powder also helps to absorb excess oils and minimize the look of pores, ensuring that your makeup looks smooth and flawless all day long.
Blush:
A blush is perfect for adding some color and definition to your cheeks. Whether you want a subtle, natural hue or an intense pop of color, a blush can help you create the desired look. It also helps to brighten and soften your face, leaving you with a beautiful, radiant complexion.
Highlighter:
Highlighter is used to bring light and illumination back into your face. It helps to enhance features like the cheekbones, brow bone, nose, and cupid’s bow. When applied correctly, it can give you a radiant glow that looks natural and beautiful. It also helps to create dimension.
Bronzer:
Bronzer is used to give you a sun-kissed glow without having to be in the sun. It can be used to contour your face, adding shape and definition. Bronzer also helps to warm up the complexion and give you an overall healthy and natural-looking flush.
Contouring makeup:
Contouring makeup is perfect for adding shadows and definition to your face. It can be used to enhance the shape of the cheekbones, nose, forehead, and jawline. Contouring makeup also helps to create a naturally sculpted look that looks flattering on all skin tones. Some products serve as bronzer and contour.
Eyebrow makeup (pencil, powder, gel):
Eyebrow makeup is essential for creating brows that are full, defined and well-shaped. An eyebrow pencil can be used to fill in sparse areas, while powder and gel can be used to shape and define the brows. With eyebrow makeup, you can create a beautiful arch that will frame your face perfectly.
Mascara:
Mascara is the perfect way to add volume, length and definition to your lashes. It can help you create a bold, statement-making look or an everyday subtle look. With mascara, your eyes will be the focus of your makeup look, making them look more awake and alive.
Eyeliner:
Eyeliner is a great way to add definition and shape to the eyes. Whether you want a bold cat-eye look or a softer, smoky effect, eyeliner can help you achieve the desired outcome. It can also be used to help create the illusion of bigger, brighter eyes.
Eyeshadow (powder, cream, gel, stick):
Eyeshadow can be used to create a variety of makeup looks, including subtle and natural or bold and dramatic. It comes in several forms – powder, cream, gel and stick – to help you create the perfect eye look. With eyeshadow, you can enhance your natural features or create a bold look that will turn heads.
False lashes:
False lashes are a great way to add instant drama and volume to your look. Whether you want long, wispy lashes or something more dramatic, false lashes can help you achieve the desired effect. They’re easy to apply and give your eyes an extra boost of glamour.
Eyelash glue:
Eyelash glue is an essential part of applying false lashes. It helps to ensure that the lashes stay in place all day long, and it helps to keep them looking natural. Eyelash glue is usually clear or white, and it comes in several different formulas depending on your needs.
Lipstick (matte, glossy, liquid):
Lipstick is a must-have for any makeup look. It’s available in a variety of formulas – matte, glossy, and liquid – and a range of shades, so you can find the perfect one for your look. Lipstick helps to define and enhance your lips, giving them a beautiful and eye-catching pop of color.
Lip gloss:
Lip gloss is the perfect way to add a glossy, high-shine finish to your lips. It can be used alone or layered over lipstick for an extra pop of color and shine. Lip gloss also helps to keep your lips hydrated and looking plump and healthy.
Lip balm/ chapstick:
Lip balm or chapstick is essential for keeping your lips hydrated, soft and smooth. It can be used before applying lipsticks and glosses to help them look their best, or it can be used as a stand-alone product for added hydration and nourishment.
Lip liner:
Lip liner is a great way to define your lips and create the perfect pout. It can be used to shape and enhance your natural lip line, as well as to fill in sparse areas. Lip liner helps your lipstick and gloss look their best, and it also helps to keep them on longer.
Setting spray:
Setting spray helps to keep your makeup in place all day long. It can help to lock in your look and prevent foundation, blush, bronzer and eyeshadows from fading or smudging. Setting spray is available in a variety of formulas, so you can find the one that works best for you.
Setting powder:
Setting powder is a must-have for anyone who wants their makeup to last all day. It helps to lock in foundation and concealer, as well as help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Setting powder is also great for controlling shine, giving your skin a matte finish.
Tinted moisturizer:
Tinted moisturizer is a great choice for those who want light coverage with a natural finish. It helps to even out skin tone while still allowing your natural skin to show through. Tinted moisturizer is available in a variety of shades, so you can find one that’s perfect for your complexion.
BB cream/CC cream:
BB cream and CC cream are both multi-functional products that help to even out skin tone, provide light coverage, and hydrate the skin. They are available in a range of shades and formulas, so you can find the one that works best for your skin type. They’re usually a combination of a light foundation and a sunscreen.
Glitter:
Glitter makes any makeup look more fun and glamorous. It’s a great way to add a bit of sparkle and shine to your look. Whether you want to add a subtle hint of shimmer to your eyes or go for something more dramatic glitter lip, glitter can help you create the perfect look.
Makeup tools uses:
Makeup brushes:
Makeup brushes are essential for applying and blending your makeup. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes to help you achieve the best results, no matter what kind of look you’re going for. Makeup brushes can help you achieve a flawless finish and make your makeup look more professional look.
Makeup sponge:
Makeup sponges are a great way to apply and blend makeup for an airbrushed finish. They can be used with liquid foundation, concealer, and cream products to help create an even and seamless look. Makeup sponges are reusable and easy to clean, making them an essential for any makeup bag.
Eyelash curler:
An eyelash curler is a great way to give your eyes a wide-awake look. It helps to curl your lashes and make them look longer and fuller. Eyelash curlers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so you can find one that’s perfect for your eye shape.
Makeup tweezers:
Some tweezers were created to remove facial hair, and some tweezers were designed to help you apply fake lashes easier. Makeup tweezers can also help you separate and trim your brows for a more groomed look. They come in different sizes and shapes.
Fun fact (and disclaimer): I was a makeup artist for over ten years, and I know how overwhelming the makeup product world can be! While this is a list of makeup products, YOU DO NOT NEED EVERYTHING!
There are certain things on this list that I don’t use and did not really use on clients. For example, I don’t use a color corrector on myself because I don’t really need it.
For certain clients, I wouldn’t use false lashes because their natural lashes were so thick they didn’t need it!
Use what makes sense for you, and omit anything that doesn’t!
Makeup products name list step by step:
Now that I’ve shared the different makeup products and their uses, let’s talk about the things you need for a full face of makeup step-by-step:
1- When applying makeup, you want to start with a freshly washed and clean face that has been moisturized with a face moisturizer.
I recommend applying a face primer to your face and neck. This will allow your makeup to go on smoother, last longer, and blend better. You can apply your face primer with a brush, sponge, or with your hands.
2. Next, using a foundation brush or a beauty blender sponge, apply liquid foundation evenly across your face and down your neck. Make sure you blend well! You can swap out foundation makeup for bb cream, cc cream, or tinted moisturizer.
You can also use a concealer or color corrector to cover up any dark spots. If you find that your foundation is not enough and your dark spots or blemishes still show through your foundation, consider a fuller coverage foundation or a color corrector.
3. Once your foundation is done, it’s time for the eyebrows! Fill in your eyebrows with a brow product of your choice. You can use an eyebrow pencil, powder, gel, or wax. Make sure to make small strokes and blend the product in well.
4. Next up is eyeshadow! Apply a light shade all over the lid, followed by a medium shade in the crease. Blend it together.
5. Optional: Once your eyeshadow is done, you can apply eyeliner. Line the top lash line with a pencil eyeliner or liquid eyeliner. You can create a classic winger eyeliner look or something more bold. You can also smudge it out for a more blended look.
6. Finish your eye look with mascara which is applied to your lashes.
7. Optional: If you want an EXTRA pop, consider applying false lashes!
False lashes can be a little difficult to apply for beginners, so here is a quick video sharing how to apply lashes for beginners:
8. Now that your eyes are complete, let’s move on to concealer. Use a concealer that matches your skin tone or is 1-3 shades lighter (if you want a bright-eye look!). Apply the concealer under the eyes. Blend it in with a beauty blender sponge.
9. Optional: Apply a setting power directly over your concealer to help prevent your concealer from moving around. You can apply your setting powder with a sponge on top of your concealer and then brush off any excess powder with a small brush.
10. Now, let’s add some blush! Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks for a natural look.
11. Optional: Contour helps to add dimension back into your face and make your face appear slimmer. Contour makeup should be darker than your complexion. Apply to your cheekbones and the perimeter of your face.
12. Optional: Highlight makeup helps to make your face glow and highlight all the areas of your face that you want to bring attention to. Apply a little bit of highlighting makeup to the tops of your cheekbones, the center of your nose, and your cupid bow.
13. Finally, it’s time for the lips! Lipstick will help to pull the whole look together. Line your lips with a lip liner of your choice, and then apply lipstick. You can go for a bold look or keep it more natural. You can swap out lipstick for lip gloss, lip balm, or use all 3!
14. Optional: Finish your makeup look with setting spray! Setting spray helps to help your makeup stay put all day. It should be the last step in your routine.
